STONE RIDGE, April 2011 Jim played at the Marbletown Multi-Arts Center (MaMa) in Stone Ridge on Saturday, April 2nd at 8 p.m. Joining him were some of the area’s finest musicians: Kelly McNally (vocals) Singer, songwriter (leader of local Organic Rock Band, The Virginia Wolves) Steve Gorn (flute, clarinet) has performed around the world as a master of Indian flutes, appearing with the likes of Paul Simon and Jack deJohnette. He recently won a Grammy for an album recorded with Paul Winter. Frank Luther (upright bass) toured for ten years with Gerry Mulilgan and has performed with Herbie Hancock, George Shearing and many other jazz legends. Rob Norris (electric bass) a founding member of the Bongos – one of Hoboken’s signature bands, has performed with the Velvet Underground, Tallulah, and many other groups. Joel Kushnik (vocals, guitar) has accompanied such notable musicians as Buddy Montgomery, Sal Salvador, and Kenny Werner. He is also an accomplished sitar player. |
